Visitors with Disabilities
Sainte-Marie among the Hurons strives at all times to provide its historical, education and event programming and goods and services to visitors in a way that respects the dignity and independence of people with disabilities. We are also committed to giving people with disabilities the same opportunity to access our historical, education and event programming and goods and services and allowing them to benefit from the same services, in the same place and in a similar way as other visitors. In short, Accessible Customer Service is the same as Customer Service.
Sainte-Marie is committed to excellence in serving all customers including people with disabilities and we are pleased to provide the following services:
• A support person accompanying a person with a disability is admitted free.
• We welcome service animals accompanying persons with disabilities on the historic site, in modern buildings and when visiting retail, restaurant and theatre outlets on the site.
• We are committed to serving people with disabilities who use assistive devices to obtain, use or benefit from our historical, education and event programming and goods and services.
Assistive Devices: We have assistive devices available for the visitor to use when visiting Sainte-Marie. We will provide orientation for the visitor to maximize the benefits of the device for use in a safe and controlled manner at all times.

Audio Tour Wands: Multi-Language Audio Tour Wands are available in English, French, German, Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, Dutch, Polish, Italian, Russian, Standard and Simplified Chinese.
Audio Visual Presentation: Orientation videos available with subtitles in English, French and German
Visitor Amenities: Accessible washrooms, power assisted doors and access ramps to all historic buildings.
Visitor Service Feedback: Feedback regarding the way we provide historical, education and event programming, and goods and services to people with disabilities can be made via Visitor Comment Cards available at Visitor Services.
We will communicate with people with disabilities in ways that take into account their disability. We will train staff who communicate with our visitors on how to interact and communicate with people with various types of disabilities.
